Feel free to go “off-book” and work with your teacher to create a custom arrangement just for you. Don’t be afraid to bring something to your teacher that resonates with you. Play what you want to play, not what you think you should play. Doesn’t matter if it is “Hot Cross Buns” or Stravinsky. Looking back at our recitals, the pieces that moved me have been the most authentic ones. So don’t hold back, be your best self and resist the urge to compare yourself to other students. It has been a busy month at Guitar Shed and we are looking forward to our upcoming Winter Recitals Our Kids Winter Recital on 12/9 is full, but please email us if you would like to be added to the waiting list. There are no awards, no rankings, no auditions, no judging, and no preference given to individual students. The Winter Recital is always a big day for Guitar Shed. This is a great opportunity to come together as a community and support each other. Drums, Guitar Shed, Recital Guitar Shed Spring Drum Recital 4/23 The Spring Drum Recital will be Sunday 4/23 at 6:30 pm here at the Shed Check with your teacher about performing and then register online via the student portal. Recitals are not required at Guitar Shed, but they are encouraged. There is limited space, so please talk to your teacher and sign up in the student portal as soon as possible. Signup begins for all Winter Recitals on 10/1. All feedback is welcome and you can register (free of charge) in the student portal. These office hours are an opportunity to talk about your lessons and experience at Guitar Shed.
